Earlier this spring, a group of people walked through the woods at FSP's Parenting For Peace event. Mikhu Paul said it best: "It's hard to care about something if you're not connected to it."
A Wolastoqey writer and visual artist, Mihku began with a story and drumming and then led a walk through the woods, encouraging participants to find patterns.
As a Quaker school, we often hear the quote to "be patterns, to walk joyfully over the world." This Sunday afternoon, children and adults walked with Mihku to notice, connect, and respond to patterns.
Children began noticing patterns from leaf shapes to alternating sizes.
After the walk, children and adults created artwork inspired by the patterns.
As part of this year’s Parenting for Peace, teachers now have access to the curriculum and posters created by Mihku Paul and Isabelle Zoe.
